Edmodo Edmodo is very basic. The simplicity of the interface makes it accessible to students as early as 4th grade. Simple setup just requires verification of teaching credentials. There are still concerns about Edmodo's level of security for student PII. The tools are very limited but a good starter package for educators just learning to use LMS's.
Blackboard Blackboard is a very advanced system with a large range of tools and customizable options for teachers and students. It is a lot to take on, so we advise people to start out on a more simple format and then move up to BB when your educators are ready. They can even move to this platform individually as their comfort level with the LMS format increases. Still checking on PII issues and data storage.
